Children are gifts from the Lord. It is wise to always seek advice from Him. Children are miracles and a sign that God trusts us to handle a soul. We are His children, and hence, our children are His. One major parental role is to raise God-fearing kids and who acknowledge God in their lives. Parenting is one of the most important callings from God. The primary role of Christian parents is to guide children into Christ and raise them in His glory.

There are so many parenting books to seek advice from, but wisdom and how to bring up children according to God’s way can only be sought from the bible. Below are 17 bible verses to encourage you as a parent.

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Colossians 3:21

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

Proverbs 29: 17

Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

Ephesians 6:1-4

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Psalms 139: 13-16

Isaiah 54:13

All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.

Lamentation 2:19

Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Hebrews 12:7-11

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
